"Il Giardino" is an ancient farmhouse dating back to the beginning of XX century. The interior has been simply and finely renovated while maintaining its original outer structure, in order to create a guest house for a detail-oriented tourist in search of calm and relax. The house, located in a strategic position close to the city centre, not only offers 5 rooms enriched with unique, floral-inspired details, but also a breath-taking panoramic view of the Monferrato hills. The accommodation, surrounded by vineyards, also includes a patio, a swimming pool, a large garden and a wood of more than 10,000 square meters, which will allow you to spend a quiet and relaxing holiday in the heart of the Monferrato.

Yellow Room

You will be fascinated by the romantic reflections and extremely refined furniture of this room. Its windows overlook the vineyards and the hills of Monferrato. About us

Casa Il Giardino is up in the hills and it is immersed in nature. Its private wood is provided with a picnic area under the shade of the trees, a very large meadow and a swimming pool where you can relax. You will be charmed by the country style of this finely restored, ancient, Piedmontese farmhouse. The house overlooks the medieval city of Nizza Monferrato and the entire alpine area. The path that leads to Casa Il Giardino is near to the city centre and it wounds up the hill of the Alto Monferrato. Here, in addition to vineyards and hazel groves, you can also see the fascinating profile of villages, churches, bell towers and slopes. By walking down this road you will discover not only an inestimable artistic and cultural heritage, but also some of the regional specialties typical of the Italian culinary heritage. We are also available to help and advise you for any information on what to see, where to eat and where to shop typical products.

Territory

Nizza Monferrato is situated between the stream Belbo and the Rio Nizza not far from Asti, Canelli, Alba and Acqui Terme. In May 2014, Nizza and its surrounding area became the 50th Unesco world heritage site in Italy. This small town is located in a hilly countryside area characterised by a mild climate which allows it to be particularly suited for vineyard cultivation and therefore for wine production. The area’s economy is mainly commercial and agricultural, but it excels in terms of wine production especially thanks to DOC and DOCG labelled wines such as Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato, Brachetto, Cortese, Freisa and Grignolino. The most important wine grape variety of this hilly landscape is Barbera. In fact, in such an area there are the most favourable climatic conditions for ripening, thus allowing wine producers to make a high-quality Barbera d’Asti. Competent authorities have acknowledged the region, which includes the 18 villages in which Barbera d’Asti Superiore Nizza can be produced, as a high-value subarea. In the historic centre of Nizza one may find historical buildings of particular interest. First of all, it is worth mentioning the Palazzo Comunale (the town hall). This was built between XIV and XV century and it is surmounted by the ancient bell tower of the town hall, known by the citizens of Nizza as “Campanon”. In front of it, in the same square, one can also admire the Palazzo De Benedetti which is a magnificent

mansion belonging to XVIII century. The town hall and the bell tower, which are both located in Piazza Martiri di Alessandria, indicate the city centre. Palazzo Crova is another interesting building. It is a perfect example of a mansion house dating back to XVIII century and it includes another building planned by Robilant as well as a garden enclosed in high walls. Nowadays, Palazzo Crova is the seat for the public library, the Enoteca Regionale, the Museo del Gusto and the Museo Art 900.
